How To Clean And Remove Kitchen Carpet Spill Effectively
Carpet spills can happen even when people try to be careful. If a kitchen is carpeted, the floor may be susceptible to carpet stains. Chances are that people who have kitchen carpet need to know how to clean and remove kitchen carpet spill effectively.
How to clean and remove kitchen carpet spill effectively can be done in many ways. Most carpet cleaning methods start with cleaning up as much of the moisture of the spill as possible.
Wiping or rubbing the area of the carpet stain should be avoided. Wiping the carpet stain can spread the stain and make it larger.
It is better to take a thin towel or paper towels, lay them on the carpet spill, then gently press on the area. The person may also blot the area with a towel or paper towel.
After as much moisture as possible is removed from the carpet spill, the person should mix about two tablespoons of ammonia with about two cups of water into a bowl. A thin, clean towel should be placed in the ammonia and water mixture and wrung out.
The wet towel should be placed over the area of the carpet stain. To prepare an iron to use to steam clean the carpet stain, water needs to be in the reservoir and the iron should be set to a low steam setting.
The hot iron should be placed on top of the wet towel on the carpet stain. The carpet should be checked every minute. This carpet removal process should not be done for more than five minutes.
If the stain has not been removed, the person may try blotting the carpet stain with rubbing alcohol. Pouring rubbing alcohol onto a carpet should never be done because the rubbing alcohol can damage the carpet backing. Instead, the person can blot the surface of the carpet with a towel damp with rubbing alcohol.
Another carpet cleaning option is to use hydrogen peroxide to clean the stain. If rubbing alcohol is used, it needs to be rinsed from the carpet using a wet towel. Hydrogen peroxide does not need to be rinsed from the carpet since it will turn to water.
